Hi guys, my Sony Xperia Z2 met with a terrible accident (don't even ask how; its painful to even recall). The handset was shattered body, screen and all
Still, I tried plugging a charger to it (keeping the remains of the Z2 covered by a two-wheeler helmet :D ). Sometimes the charging indicator lit up, but most times, it did not.
I completed its last rituals  and after throwing away all the bits and pieces, I was left with the motherboard connected to the battery.
I tried connecting only this board-battery combo to the charger and it heated up (not unusually, quite much the same as it used to when alive). I also tried plugging it thereafter to a Windows XP machine which gave an error that the device malfunctioned and the device may not perform (don't remember the exact error message, but the ones that Windows usually flashes on failed driver installations or corrupt hard drives). Connecting to Windows 7 machine produced nothing at all.
Now. is it, by any means whatsoever possible to recover my data from these remains? I'm prepared to spend a reasonable amount of money for this (no point even thinking of those crappy recovery software ). Please, something  It's really a matter of life and death so far as that data is concerned :( .
I know, I know, I was a dumb fool not to have backed it up, but that's hindsight, neither here nor there.
But any ray of hope at all?
